New to ceramics or want to get back into it?
Then a Taster Session is for you. On a Wednesday and Thursday night from 6.30-9pm you will be guided through the two most common clay construction methods of handbuilding and wheel throwing. You will be well looked after by artist and founder of Dalston Clay, Barnaby Hosking with tea, a good playlist, expert advice and no limit on clay. Due to Barnaby's background in contemporary art, these sessions are very free and dynamic so come with your own projects in mind or come with none: together will find a project that feels right for you.
After a few taster sessions you will be well informed to book our cheaper
Drop-In sessions, becoming part of our thriving Drop-In Community, allowing access to the studio every day
from 9am to 9pm.

Looking to try out the wheel or learn more in-depth on the wheel? Our Wheel Throwing Summer School is the best place to start or continue. Sessions can be booked individually or in a bundle for more savings.

Firing and Glazing
​
We can fire and glaze your work for an extra fee: £5 (mug size), £10 (small vase size) or £15 (fruit bowl size) payable by cash or contactless at the end of your session.
For this price we can either glaze for you in satin white or clear (if pre-coated in coloured slip)

Alternatively we encourage you to book a Glazing Session during which we will teach you how to glaze your work with a glaze of your choice from our extensive range of beautiful brush on glazes (glaze included).
After you have glazed your work you can join in the rest of the session that night for free!

As a CIC and Social Enterprise, it is our intention is to make Dalston Clay a studio that is available to everyone, regardless of financial circumstance. While we need to function as a business, we never want money to be the reason why someone can't benefit from what we've built.
